When did you join Clifton Shard Recruitment?

My work began at the same time I joined Clifton Shards sister company C&D in September this year.

Why did you choose a career in recruitment?

My working life has consisted of a string of temporary roles which has peaked in the career I find myself within today. I want to use my reach to change the preconceptions many candidates believe about agencies; that beneath our branding lies the many faces of people that not only understand the hardships jobseekers face but also truly care.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

When I hear or see a reaction that matches the preferred reading of a post, flyer, window ad or anything I produce – especially when I have time to invest in introducing semiotics, signs and signifiers into my work. The most rewarding is in person whilst walking through the street such as the reactions I saw and heard about my armistice day piece.

And the most challenging?

My mental transitional period from a purely creative and almost chaotic style that I developed within my previous role as a digital marketer for a London based fashion label into adhering to the guidelines set within the recruitment industry.

What skills do you need for your role?

Endless on brand creativity, the ability to convey a message within your art or words and a proficiency with Adobe software helps.

What is your favourite construction project?

The regeneration of the of the printing facility for the Metro and Evening Standard newspapers – The Printworks The building has retained its rustic aesthetic and it makes for an amazing music venue with great acoustics.

How do you relax when you are not at work?

I play a lot of games. My favourites include Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Doom, Crash Bandicoot, Fallout and of course Mario (Sunshine and backward with the exclusion of Mario Galaxy 2). Other than that you’ll catch me listening to Jimi Hendrix and painting, watching The Big Lez Show or some other obscure Youtube content.
